Delete Specific Data

1. Delete a Child Profile

Deletes one child's profile, all stories generated for that child, audio files for those stories, custom characters created for that child, and Story DNA preferences. Your account and other child profiles remain intact.

Steps:

1. Open the Labeebee app
2. On the Home screen, tap the child's name/avatar at the top to open the profile switcher
3. Tap the ⋯ menu next to the child you want to delete
4. Tap Delete Profile
5. Complete the parent gate verification
6. Confirm deletion when prompted

Note: You must keep at least one child profile. To remove your only remaining profile, either delete your whole account or request deletion by email.

What is deleted:

• Child's nickname and age bracket
• Story DNA preferences for this child
• All stories generated for this child (text + metadata)
• All audio files for those stories
• Custom characters created for this child
• Playback progress and ratings for this child

What is kept:

• Your parent account and other child profiles
• Voice clones (these belong to the parent, not the child)
• Subscription and entitlements

Timeline: Immediate from live systems; backups purged within 90 days.

2. Delete a Voice Clone

Deletes a single custom voice clone (the parent's recorded voice and the cloned voice model). Other voices, stories, and child profiles are not affected.

Steps:

1. Open the Labeebee app
2. Open the menu (☰) on the Home screen and tap Preferences (or Settings → Story and voice preferences)
3. Under Voice management, find the voice clone you want to remove
4. Tap the voice clone and tap Delete Voice
5. Complete the parent gate verification
6. Confirm deletion

What is deleted:

• The original voice recording (parent's audio sample) from Supabase Storage
• The cloned voice model from our voice-cloning provider
• The voice clone metadata from our database
• Any custom avatar image uploaded for the voice

What is kept:

• Stories previously narrated by this voice (audio files remain playable)
• Your account, child profiles, and other voice clones

Timeline: Immediate. Provider-side deletion is processed within minutes.

3. Delete an Individual Story

Deletes a single story and its associated audio file.

Steps:

1. Open the Labeebee app
2. Open the child's Story Library
3. Tap and hold the story you want to delete (or tap the … menu)
4. Tap Delete Story
5. Confirm deletion

What is deleted:

• The story text and metadata
• The audio narration file
• Playback progress and ratings for this story

Timeline: Immediate.

4. Reset Story Preferences (Story DNA)

Story DNA is the personalization data we build from a child's story ratings and feedback. It adjusts automatically over time as you rate stories, and falls back to age-bracket defaults when there is little recent feedback — so there is usually no need to reset it manually.

If you would like a child's Story DNA, ratings, and feedback wiped without deleting the child profile, email us and we will take care of it:

• Email: [email protected] with subject "Reset Story Preferences"
• Include the email address on your account and the child's nickname
• Response time: within 10 business days

Alternatively, deleting the child profile removes their Story DNA along with everything else (see section 1).

5. Delete Custom Characters

Deletes a custom character you created (e.g. "Bluey the Dog" or "Princess Aurora").

Steps:

1. Open the Labeebee app
2. Start creating a story for that child and tap "or build your own" on the hero card
3. In the Characters step, open the character list
4. Tap the character you want to remove
5. Tap Delete Character and confirm

What is deleted:

• The character's name, type, and traits

What is kept:

• Stories that already featured this character (the character will remain mentioned in those stories' text)

Timeline: Immediate.

6. Request Deletion by Email

If you cannot use the app, or if you want to request deletion of any other specific data category, email us:

Response time: Confirmation within 10 business days (COPPA-required timeline).

Backup Retention

Encrypted database backups are kept for up to 90 days for disaster-recovery purposes. After 90 days, backups are permanently purged. Deleted data may briefly persist in these backups but is never used for any other purpose.
