How to Delete Your Data
You can delete your child's data or your entire account at any time. This is a COPPA right and we make it easy.

Option 1: In the App (Recommended)
You can delete your data directly in the app. Our dedicated guides walk you through each option step by step — deleting your whole account, or deleting specific data such as a single child profile, voice clone, story, or characters.

Subject: "Delete My Account" or "Delete Child Profile"
Include:
- Your registered email address
- Child's nickname (if deleting single profile)

Voice Cloning Data: You can delete voice clone recordings and models from Preferences → Voice management, or remove everything by deleting your account. See Delete Specific Data for steps.
Important: Previously generated stories sent to AI providers (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, MiniMax) cannot be retroactively deleted from their systems, but they are NOT used for model training.
Account Management FAQ
How do I change my email address?
Currently, email addresses cannot be changed directly in-app. To change your email:
- Contact [email protected] with "Change Email" in subject
- Include both old and new email addresses
- We'll update your account within 1 business day
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
- Open Labeebee app
- Tap "Login"
- Tap "Forgot Password?"
- Enter your email address
- Check your email for password reset link (check spam folder)
- Click link and create new password
Alternative: If using Apple/Google Sign-In, reset password through your Apple ID or Google account settings.
Can I transfer my account to a new device?
Yes! Your account is cloud-based and accessible from any device:
- Install Labeebee on new device
- Log in with same email/password or Apple/Google Sign-In
- All child profiles, stories, and preferences sync automatically
Note: Offline downloads do NOT transfer. Re-download stories you want available offline.
Can multiple parents share our account?
Separate parent logins for a single shared account are on our roadmap but not available yet. In the meantime, the whole household can use the same account signed in on multiple devices (phones and tablets) — child profiles, stories, and preferences stay in sync everywhere.
The Family plan is built for bigger households: up to 20 child profiles, all narrator voices, and up to 20 custom voice clones. You can also invite grandparents or other family members to record their voice for narration — open Preferences → Voice management and choose to invite someone to record.

How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS:
- Open Settings app (iPhone/iPad)
- Tap your name at top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Select Labeebee
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
Android:
- Open Play Store app
- Tap Menu → Subscriptions
- Select Labeebee
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
In-App: Settings → Subscription → Manage (opens App Store/Play Store)
Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
No, subscriptions are non-refundable for partial billing periods. However:
- You retain premium access until end of current billing period
- After trial/subscription ends, you automatically have free tier (2 stories/month)
- Exceptional circumstances (billing errors, technical issues): Contact [email protected]
How does the 7-day free trial work?
- Activation: Trial starts when you create first child profile
- Duration: 7 days full premium access
- Extension: Some low-engagement users may receive one-time 7-day extension (automatic)
- Payment: No credit card required during trial (managed through App Store/Play Store)
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime before trial ends to avoid charges

How do I manage my subscription through App Store/Play Store?
All subscription management (billing, cancellation, plan changes) is handled by Apple/Google:

What happens to my data if I downgrade to free tier?
- All child profiles, characters, and stories are retained
- You can view/play all existing stories anytime
- Free tier: Generate 2 new stories per month (resets monthly)
- Offline downloads remain available for previously downloaded stories
- Demo stories always available (5 pre-generated stories, no account needed)
Story Generation FAQ
How long does it take to generate a story?
- Your first story: prepared in advance and ready in seconds
- Every story after that: about 1–2 minutes to write and narrate
- Progress indicator: an in-app indicator shows the status while the story is being created
Why did my story generation fail?
Common reasons:
- Internet connection: Check Wi-Fi or cellular data
- Service outage: Rare, but AI providers (Claude, OpenAI, MiniMax) may have downtime
- Content filters: If character names or story themes violate content policies
- Free tier limit: If you've used 2 stories this month on free tier

Can I edit a generated story?
No, stories cannot be edited after generation. However:
- You can regenerate a new story with same characters/theme
- Adjust Story DNA preferences to influence future stories
- Rate stories (1-5 stars) to improve recommendations
How does Story DNA work?
Story DNA is our personalization system:
- During onboarding, you rate reference stories (love/like/not-for-me)
- We analyze your preferences (adventure, calm, animals, magic, etc.)
- Future stories are weighted toward your child's preferences
- Ratings and feedback continually improve Story DNA over time
What are the story length options?
- 5 minutes: a short, quick bedtime story
- 10 minutes: ~800-1,000 words, perfect for bedtime
- 20 minutes: ~1,600-2,000 words, a longer immersive experience
- Multi-night series: a chaptered adventure spread across several nights (Premium and Family)
You choose the length in the Length step of the customise wizard. Actual playback time may vary slightly depending on narrator voice pace.
Can I regenerate a story if I don't like it?
Yes! There are no limits on regeneration for premium users:
- Tap "Create New Story" to generate different story
- Use "Lucky Dip" theme selector for surprise themes
- Adjust characters or preferences if stories feel repetitive
Free tier: Limited to 2 new stories per month total (including regenerations).
How does Lucky Dip (the Surprise button) work?
In the Theme step of the customise wizard, tap the Surprise button and Labeebee picks a theme for you with a fun slot-machine sweep. It works whether or not your child has Story DNA preferences set yet — great for variety without decision fatigue before bedtime.
What are multi-chapter stories?
Multi-chapter stories are serialized adventures spanning 3-7 chapters. Each chapter is generated on-demand as your child progresses through the series, with "Previously on..." recaps to maintain continuity. Available for Premium and Family subscribers.
Can I try Labeebee without creating an account?
Yes! We offer 5 demo stories that you can play immediately without signing up. Demo stories feature generic characters and showcase the full playback experience with ambient visuals and professional narration.
How many voices are available?
We offer 25 professional stock voices with diverse ages, genders, and accents. All tiers have access to these voices. Premium and Family subscribers can also create custom voice clones of parent voices.
What's the difference between "Create this story" and "build your own"?
On the Home screen, "✨ Create this story" makes a story in one tap using the selected child's saved defaults (voice, theme, and length) — perfect when you just want tonight's story fast. "or build your own" opens a step-by-step wizard (characters, voice, theme, interactivity, and length) so you can customise everything.
Where do I set a child's default voice, theme, or length?
Open the menu (☰) on the Home screen and tap Preferences (also under Settings → "Story and voice preferences"). You can set each child's default voice, theme, length, and interactivity there. Labeebee also learns these automatically from the stories you create, so one-tap creation keeps getting better.
Can I get a bedtime reminder that creates the story for me?
Yes. Set a bedtime reminder in Preferences. At bedtime you'll get a notification with "Yes" and "Not tonight" buttons — tapping "Yes" automatically creates a story using that child's favourite settings, so it's ready when you are.
Why do some stories have a picture?
Stories now include illustrated scene artwork shown on the playback screen and on your Library cards. This is rolling out on Android first.
Is karaoke word highlighting on automatically?
Yes — word highlighting is on by default on all paid plans (Standard, Premium, and Family). You can toggle it from the playback screen while a story is playing.
Technical Issues FAQ
Stories won't download or play
Troubleshooting steps:
- Check internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data)
- Close and reopen Labeebee app
- Check device storage (need ~5-10 MB per story for offline download)
- Update to latest app version (App Store/Play Store)
- Try streaming instead of downloading (requires active internet)

Audio is cutting out or stuttering
- Streaming: Check internet connection strength
- Downloaded stories: Delete and re-download story
- Bluetooth: Try disconnecting Bluetooth headphones/speakers

- Restart device

Offline mode not working
Ensure stories are fully downloaded before going offline:
- Open story in app
- Tap download icon (downward arrow)
- Wait for "Downloaded" confirmation
- Test playback while online first
Karaoke word highlighting is out of sync
This can happen if:
- Audio file was interrupted during download (re-download)
- Device is running low on memory (close other apps)
- Story was generated during beta (regenerate story)

How does offline mode work?
Standard, Premium, and Family subscribers can download stories for offline playback. Stories are automatically cached when played, and you can manage storage via Settings → Clear Cache. Downloaded stories remain available even without internet connection.

What data do you collect about my child?
Child data collected (COPPA-compliant):
- Nickname (not legal name)
- Age bracket (3-5, 6-8, 9-10 - NOT date of birth)
- Gender (optional, for pronouns only)

Do you sell my child's data?
No, absolutely not. We NEVER:
- Sell or rent data to third parties
- Share data with advertising networks
- Use behavioral tracking
- Share with social media platforms
We share data ONLY with service providers necessary for app functionality (Anthropic, OpenAI, MiniMax, Supabase) under strict Data Processing Agreements.
Can I download all my child's data?
Yes, you have the right to data access. Email us and we'll prepare an export:

How do I delete a single child profile without deleting my account?

What happens to my data if Labeebee shuts down?
In the unlikely event of service closure:
- We will provide 90 days' notice via email and in-app notification
- Data export tool will be made available
- All user data will be permanently deleted after shutdown
- Subscriptions will be cancelled with prorated refunds (if applicable)
