How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your child's data or your entire account at any time. This is a COPPA right and we make it easy.

Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

Delete Single Child Profile:

  1. Open Labeebee app
  2. Tap Settings (gear icon in top right)
  3. Tap Child Profiles
  4. Select the child profile you want to delete
  5. Tap "Delete Profile" button
  6. Complete parent gate verification
  7. Type "DELETE" to confirm

Delete Entire Account (All Data):

  1. Open Labeebee app
  2. Tap Settings (gear icon)
  3. Tap Account
  4. Tap "Delete My Account"
  5. Complete parent gate verification
  6. Review what will be deleted:
    • All child profiles and characters
    • All generated stories and audio files
    • All preferences and Story DNA data
    • Account credentials (cannot be recovered)
  7. Type "DELETE" to confirm
  8. Deletion begins immediately

Option 2: Email Request

Send email to: support@labeebee.app

Subject: "Delete My Account" or "Delete Child Profile"

Include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Child's nickname (if deleting single profile)

Response time: Confirmation within 10 business days

Voice Cloning Data: Voice clone recordings and models can be deleted via Settings → Voices → Delete Voice Clone, or by deleting your entire account (Settings → Account → Delete Account).

Important: Previously generated stories sent to AI providers (Anthropic Claude, ElevenLabs) cannot be retroactively deleted from their systems, but they are NOT used for model training.

Account Management FAQ

How do I change my email address?

Currently, email addresses cannot be changed directly in-app. To change your email:

  1. Contact support@labeebee.app with "Change Email" in subject
  2. Include both old and new email addresses
  3. We'll update your account within 1 business day

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

  1. Open Labeebee app
  2. Tap "Login"
  3. Tap "Forgot Password?"
  4. Enter your email address
  5. Check your email for password reset link (check spam folder)
  6. Click link and create new password

Alternative: If using Apple/Google Sign-In, reset password through your Apple ID or Google account settings.

Can I transfer my account to a new device?

Yes! Your account is cloud-based and accessible from any device:

  1. Install Labeebee on new device
  2. Log in with same email/password or Apple/Google Sign-In
  3. All child profiles, stories, and preferences sync automatically

Note: Offline downloads do NOT transfer. Re-download stories you want available offline.

How do I add a second parent to my account?

Family Plan (v1.1 feature):

  • Upgrade to Family Plan ($14.99/mo or $119.99/yr)
  • Navigate to Settings → Family Sharing
  • Tap "Invite Parent"
  • Enter second parent's email
  • They'll receive invitation to join shared account

Workaround (current): Share account credentials securely within your household.

Subscriptions & Billing FAQ

How do I cancel my subscription?

iOS:

  1. Open Settings app (iPhone/iPad)
  2. Tap your name at top
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. Select Labeebee
  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Android:

  1. Open Play Store app
  2. Tap Menu → Subscriptions
  3. Select Labeebee
  4. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Do I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?

No, subscriptions are non-refundable for partial billing periods. However:

  • You retain premium access until end of current billing period
  • After trial/subscription ends, you automatically have free tier (2 stories/month)

How does the 7-day free trial work?

  • Activation: Trial starts when you create first child profile
  • Duration: 7 days full premium access
  • Extension: Some low-engagement users may receive one-time 7-day extension (automatic)
  • Payment: No credit card required during trial (managed through App Store/Play Store)
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime before trial ends to avoid charges

Story Generation FAQ

How long does it take to generate a story?

  • Story text generation: 30-90 seconds (Claude API)
  • Voice narration: 1-3 minutes (ElevenLabs/PlayHT text-to-speech)
  • Total time: 2-5 minutes on average
  • Progress indicator: Watch in-app progress bar

Why did my story generation fail?

Common reasons:

  • Internet connection: Check Wi-Fi or cellular data
  • Service outage: Rare, but AI providers (Claude, ElevenLabs) may have downtime
  • Content filters: If character names or story themes violate content policies
  • Free tier limit: If you've used 2 stories this month on free tier

Can I edit a generated story?

No, stories cannot be edited after generation. However:

  • You can regenerate a new story with same characters/theme
  • Adjust Story DNA preferences to influence future stories
  • Rate stories (1-5 stars) to improve recommendations

How does Story DNA work?

Story DNA is our personalization system:

  1. During onboarding, you rate reference stories (love/like/not-for-me)
  2. We analyze your preferences (adventure, calm, animals, magic, etc.)
  3. Future stories are weighted toward your child's preferences
  4. Ratings and feedback continually improve Story DNA
  5. Reset anytime: Settings → Child Profiles → [Child] → Reset Preferences

What are the story length options?

  • 10 minutes: ~800-1,000 words, ideal for quick bedtime
  • 20 minutes: ~1,600-2,000 words, longer immersive experience

Actual playback time may vary slightly depending on narrator voice pace.

Can I regenerate a story if I don't like it?

Yes! There are no limits on regeneration for premium users:

  1. Tap "Create New Story" to generate different story
  2. Use "Lucky Dip" theme selector for surprise themes
  3. Adjust characters or preferences if stories feel repetitive

Free tier: Limited to 2 new stories per month total (including regenerations).

How does the Lucky Dip theme selector work?

Lucky Dip randomly selects a theme based on your child's Story DNA preferences. Great for variety without decision fatigue before bedtime.

What are multi-chapter stories?

Multi-chapter stories are serialized adventures spanning 3-7 chapters. Each chapter is generated on-demand as your child progresses through the series, with "Previously on..." recaps to maintain continuity. Available for Premium and Family subscribers.

Can I try Labeebee without creating an account?

Yes! We offer 5 demo stories that you can play immediately without signing up. Demo stories feature generic characters and showcase the full playback experience with ambient visuals and professional narration.

How many voices are available?

We offer 25 professional stock voices with diverse ages, genders, and accents. All tiers have access to these voices. Premium and Family subscribers can also create custom voice clones of parent voices.

Technical Issues FAQ

Stories won't download or play

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data)
  2. Close and reopen Labeebee app
  3. Check device storage (need ~5-10 MB per story for offline download)
  4. Update to latest app version (App Store/Play Store)
  5. Try streaming instead of downloading (requires active internet)

Audio is cutting out or stuttering

  • Streaming: Check internet connection strength
  • Downloaded stories: Delete and re-download story
  • Bluetooth: Try disconnecting Bluetooth headphones/speakers

App crashes on startup

  1. Update app to latest version
  2. Restart device

Offline mode not working

Ensure stories are fully downloaded before going offline:

  1. Open story in app

Karaoke word highlighting is out of sync

This can happen if:

  • Audio file was interrupted during download (re-download)
  • Device is running low on memory (close other apps)
  • Story was generated during beta (regenerate story)

How does offline mode work?

Premium and Family subscribers can download stories for offline playback. Stories are automatically cached when played, and you can manage storage via Settings → Clear Cache. Downloaded stories remain available even without internet connection.

What data do you collect about my child?

Child data collected (COPPA-compliant):

  • Nickname (not legal name)
  • Age bracket (3-5, 6-8, 9-10, 11-14 - NOT date of birth)
  • Gender (optional, for pronouns only)
  • Story preferences (ratings on reference stories)
